- Are you Vegetarian, Vegan or something else?
- I'm a vegan mostly for ethical reasons, but the health and environmental aspects are also very important to me. I became a vegan after the first time that I was given information about the perils of factory farming. I had never given it much thought before I read these pamphlets (I got them at my local library, they were from Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, NY). As soon as I read through them, I knew that I had no choice but to make drastic changes in my lifestyle. It's been the best decision that I've ever made, and I will never look back.
- About Me:
- I'm 26, and I'm only a Sophomore in college, so I'm a bit of an unconventional student. I got a late start with college because when I was younger, I was convinced that I was going to become a rock star. I spent several years playing music, but I've now decided that an education is extremely important. I just moved to Colorado to finish up my undergrad at CSU.
I love music. I know that everyone says this, but it really is my greatest passion. I still play guitar when I'm not busy with work and school, and I'm always trying to expand my music collection. I love talking to people about their artistic passions. Being physically active is very important to me. I go mountain biking as often as I can, I love hiking and running (especially trail running in the woods), and I play tennis. I'm a bit of an exercise junkie, I suppose.
I love all animals, especially cats. My cat Raja is pretty much my best friend. I know that's kinda weird, but it's true. I can be a bit introverted at times. I don't like going to bars like most of my friends that are my age. I'd much rather stay home and watch a movie or read a good book. I looooove Indian food. I'm also a big fan of most Asian cuisine, especially Thai and Indonesian. I also love to cook at home and try new things. I guess I just love food.

My road to veganism

grew up in the country in central Kansas. We always had dogs, indoor
and outdoor cats, horses, goldfish, rabbits, gerbils, and even a possum
for a brief time. I was definitely raised to be compassionate towards
animals, but I never gave a second thought to eating the less fortunate
species.
I used to be the worst kind of Omni. Looking back now,
I'm pretty sure that I had meat, dairy or eggs at every meal of my
