I was intrigued by your pro-life community. Interesting, I personally feel having a legal choice is necessary if we are to call ourselves a free society. If government has the right to tell us what we can and can't do with our bodies we have no freedoms at all. But abortion as birth control is a deeply troubling issue for me. Questions like pro-life vs. pro choice, veganism, vegetarianism, pescatarianism, carnivorism, etc. are so much more than a black and white, cut and dry position. I would like to share an interesting interview I have of Penny Livingston-Stark speaking about something called permaculture. It really puts a head spin on things that most people who are eco-conscious and socio-conscious would normally think are no brainer issues. It is an mp3 from the ions shift in action program, and is around an hour long but very enlightening and worth anyone's time who is concerned about the welfare of our planet in general. There were a few shockers in the interview that helped me have an even broader perspective on the choices I make and why I make them. I uploaded it to a z-share file and I didn't realize until after I uploaded it that zShare is plastered with some rather inappropriate advertisements - so I understand if you are scared of the file. I promise it is legitimate. If you aren't willing to do the zshare file you might want to check out ions shift in action and they offer a trial membership for $1. ions.org or http://www.shiftinaction.com/ and you can upload the Livingston-Stark episode with your trail membership. Good cutting edge stuff.
Here is the zshare file...

hi
:)

stupid commissary can't get firm tofu in because apparently it's "produce" and they have to find an Italian producer/distributor, and it has to pass all these US inspections... I told them, okay, so do it. lol. the manager said he would keep working on it.. and call me... I won't hold my breath. Hope you are doing good.

Hi Gretchen,
my Hubby's Navy too and we're heading to Sig. in June! :) Too bad you'll be gone by then already, it'd have been fun to meet! ;)
How was it living vegan in Italy? Right now I'm still more vegetarian than vegan (love cheese too much lol) and was wondering how living vegan would go outside the US. So far the commissary doesn't have much for vegans..

Have a great weekend; I'd love to add you to my friends! :)

Namaste!
Val

Hiya Gretchen!

Thanks for the welcome. No, I've not been to, nor do I know much about OohMahNee, but that's DEF on my list of "Things to Research" now.

Hope you had a peaceful weekend.
Cheers,
Christy

Well, welcome to VegHaven and... I'll enclose my most recent blog so that if it interests you, I might find a comment or two sometime in the future from you.

It's called... "It's Nature's Way of Receiving YOU"

The consumption of animals, the domination and control of people, and the hatred shown toward our planet are all constructions of depraved, confused idiomatic persons.

The day will come when all killing will be against the law, and all war will be considered genocide against Nature and Life.

Peace will reign for us all, even the littlest beings like insects and other creatures, because we will be given the peace and know-how to accept life by having Nature take responsibility to foster understanding that out of control procreation is not of life and should not be practiced.

I only got one flyer put up yesterday because we got to the end of the road, and the wind picked up a lot and was freaking carlee out. LOL I had to carry her AND her tricycle home. :( I'm going to try again today. Talk to you later!
