This little girl has not had a good life and doesn't know what it is like to be inside and loved. She spent her whole life tied up in a yard. She has an eye injury that is being treated and is healing. The shelter volunteers are trying to get this sweet girl into rescue if someone can take her. They say she is a real heartbreaker and just wants to be shown attention and love despite her past. She is 6 years old and won't have much of a chance if rescue doesn't come for her.

Please contact Lynn if you have room for this girl in your rescue.

pound seizure

In Minnesota the law is such that research facilities seize dogs from pounds to do animal experiments on them. Please don't let that happen to these two wonderful dogs. The gal there (will call her Tracy,.... assuming she is the same person as in the contact info) said she really doesn't want to see that happen to these dogs,...she said she'd really like to see them get a good home.

I first heard about the black lab mix dog in an email. Because it was in my area,... I borrowed a camera and went to where the dog was said to be,... to take pictures.

Here is the email I received from Bev about the dog initially:

"HI- all there is a small size black lab terrier mix that has been
at impound in South St Paul- too long. There have been three groups look at
her, and pass. She's sweet- great with people. you can see a little terrier in herthe head
is small. she is about 1 year old They think she's spayed.
please contact TRACY @

South St Paul, MN 55075

She needs a rescue soon."

Upon arriving,...

I was led back to the holding area where the animals are kept. I found out there was also another dog there that the gal working there would really like to see go to a good home. There on the end was the black dog. She excitedly ran down the hall to the lobby area where she was fascinated by everything, having been cooped up in her kennel so much. What a good dog she seemed to be. She appeared so healthy and her teeth were very nice,...and revealed that she must be quite young. She was guestimated to be about a year old. I was then told the dog probably had some pit bull in her, making it especially hard to get the dog a rescue in the area. I couldn't tell while petting and looking at her based on appearance. To me she looked like a lab,... but smaller than most labs I've seen. She was a sweetheart and really could use some help!

Once the lab mix was secured in her kennel,... the other dog Rosie a pit bull mix was brought out so I could take her photos. I could see by looking at her that she was pit bull. This dog had more of a background story on her. She had a microchip that traced her to Massachusetts and then to Minnesota. Tracy went above and beyond in trying to locate the dogs owners. Once this happened,... the people refused to pay for the impound fee or for the dog to receive any medical care there at the hospital, or for a spay which she found alarming. They did at least tell her the dogs name was "Rosie". She seemed especially fond of this dog,... and said she really didn't want to see her go to a research lab, that she wanted this dog to go to a GOOD home.

Rosie looked so petite to me. I couldn't believe how much bigger she looks in the pictures than in person. She had a beautiful petite little head with one pretty brown eye and one pretty blue eye. She had pink skin here and there that added to her femininity. I was told the dog was great around kids,... and had lived around kids in the past.

Of course the ride back brought me past stockyards, meat packing, and slaughterhouses with a truck full of empty holes pulling away,... only to add to the ominous feeling of the day....

Please someone rescue or adopt these individuals!

Perkins

Ok, so I stopped at a Perkin's today on the way to transport a dog. There was pretty much close to nothing vegetarian there. I got a salad, oatmeal, and carrots with Pink Grapefruit juice. That was a moment of discipline.
