I'd like to invite you to join a couple of discussions: One is >> The MYTH of “FREE-RANGE” EGGS. My post contains vital info that your veggie & non-veggie friends might not know about... even you might be surprised! Please spread the word & also add your thoughts to the discussion.

Another discussion is titled “Getting the message out” please >> click here. I’m inspired to encourage people to join this particular thread in the hopes that they will reply very carefully to the original discussion post, which opens with the line “I feel the subject of preventing animal cruelty im(p)edes the Vegetarian/Vegan message rather than helps it.” I hope you too will feel inspired to add your thoughts to this delicate discussion. Please invite your friends to join in so that we can bring more light of wisdom to this sharing!

Wow. I dig your "about me" section. You've been through the wringer for sure. Glad to see you're here and kicking!

I'd be more than happy to recommend some great restaurants here. I would say first look at this:

http://www.happycow.net/north_america/usa/illinois/chicago/index.html

and then figure out what kind of cuisine you like. Depending on what neighborhood you're staying in, there are pretty good restaurants to be found most everywhere in the city.

A perennial favorite is the Chicago Diner in Boystown. They've been around for over 20 years and rarely fail to please. There are lots of out-of-the-way spots that I like, such as Alice and Friends, a quirky vegan joint whose owners belong to a cult of some sort; Victory's Banner, a group of Sri Chinmoy followers; and Amitabul, a Korean Buddhist vegan joint that offers food sure to cure just about anything that ails you.

Not an exhaustive list by any means, but I think you'll have a great time eating your way around Chicago!

Cheers!
