Puppymill Awareness Day will be held in Lancaster, PA on September 20th 2008. This is a Saturday and the hours will be I believe at this point from 11 til 5. The event will be held at Intercourse Community Park, Leacock Twp, PA.

Any animal rights / welfare / shelters / ve*an groups that wish to attend may sign up at www.awarenessday.org

On Friday April 4th, Oprah will be airing (FINALLY) a show about the puppymills in Lancaster, PA. This was done undercover courtesy of Mainline Rescue in PA. Everyone watch please, from what I heard from my friend Laura who was there at the taping and brings Shrimp out on stage, said that the show is going to be totally awesome!! This will set the powers that be in Harrisburg back on their asses!!!!

Since now the time is upon us, hopefully this will help some people to make the right decision and not the wrong one. All petstores buy their dogs from puppymills. Puppymills are commercial breeding facilities that are supposed to be regulated by the USDA. Here are the number of dogs and the Kennel Class License..

K1 - 26 to 50 dogs K2 - 51 to 100 dogs K3 - 101 to 150 dogs K4 - 151 to 250 dogs
K5 - 251 and up.
