I can't wait for the day when my path turns toward the many pleasant goals I have set for myself to enjoy. I'm still encountering 'beginnings' and folks that only 'might' like to get more involved. One such turn almost began last week, when a vegetarian approached me to see if I'd be interested in talking about the BUEC.

I hope you're finding your 2008 path a lot more recognizable, a lot more meaningful and a lot more productive.

Peace.

Tell Youth The Truth

You will find it feels wonderful not participating in the meat-eating world's murderous secrets. Vegans have nothing to hide and everything to gain by changing the World now. Don't believe their lies. They say, "We are not ready yet. Maybe in a hundred years". Again, do not believe their lies. We will never be ready and it is now or never.

Just like Abe, only one better - I feel good when I do good. I feel bad when I am silent. Silence is complicity. Don't you wish someone let you know the truth when you were young? At least to know they have a choice? I would have wanted that. It took me 43 years of trusting the ones I loved - the world. Some people live and die with never knowing. The World hides it, just like the people we love lied to us about Santa. Christmas and the World was never the same - seemed cold and heartless - until we found the truth and went Vegan.
Give the gift of Truth, this and every year!

The End of 2008

Here's to the end of 2008. It's been an interesting year, healing in many ways, I think.

I hope my knee is healed enough that I can run again, that remains to be seen, but the Dr. says I can begin a walking program. I'm reading ChiWalking now.

We have a new minister at church, which means I have a new boss. I really adore her, and I think a good year is ahead in both my professional and spiritual lives.

And I'm looking forward to tonights Burning Bowl service, where we release anything we've… Continue

Another year

I can't believe another year is here. I'm not very good about posting here.

(Our beloved Lucky died in an accident early in 2008, but we have 2 more cats. Max and Mick. Rescues, animal control rounded up ferals and missed some kittens. I think Roy & I need to work on establishing a TNR program in this area.)

We've been debating the Christmas tree issue, but it looks like we'll be buying one again. And hope we anchor it well enough to withstand 2 kittens and whatever grown cats decide they… Continue

Christmas Tree Carnage

We knew better, with a kitten in the house, but we put up a Christmas tree anyway. Fortunately we had the foresight to use plastic ornaments (aka cat toys). Now when I walk through the room in the dark of the early morning I have to take a flashlight to make sure I don't step on the half dozen or so they've knocked off during the night, 'cause that friggin hurts.

Where humans are food...

Yeah...in SciFi. So I watch this TV show, Stargate Atlantis, which is set in a galaxy where the "bad guys", some of them anyway, are called Wraith. And humans are their only food. They're supposed to be the villans, when they have no choice but to kill to survive, and the humans are the good guys, even though we voluntarily kill for food.

An interesting plot turn lately has the humans working with one particular wraith, in a common enemy situation, and were forced to find a way to

Half-Marathon Training

Ice wraps and iPods are very good things.

I'm training for the Surf City Half-Marathon, which is the first weekend in February. My plan is very loosely based on the Cool Runnings beginners plan, but with longer long runs, and no speedwork. So now I'm back from today's long run, 9 miles, with an ice wrap on my left knee, which is fine now, but gets babied becuse of past problems.

This afternoon will be devoted to baking; brownies and Mexican wedding cakes for chruch tomorrow.
