he he...I just noticed that I accidentally put this in as a comment to myself...this is from a while ago...I copied it from my page and now here it is....
Depending in where you live there are different laws. Some states are ven extending the laws that restrict homeschooling. I just took my daughter out, which is actually illegel.I'm going to be moving out of the country however so I will not be bothered with the repercussions. I have homeschooled before however.A long time ago it was much easier. Under the age of seven nothing was needed where I resided. After that age their was a few options, one including a liscence to homeschool your child that was obtained bypaying some fees, and selecting a curriculum. Some states you are now required to first obtain a four year degree. I have to question the states motives at this point due to the fact that home schooled children earn higher test scores then that of a child at a public school. Not to mention the money being spent on public education verses self responsibility. If the government lacks the simplest of reasoning and they are the ones who provide the curriculum to the schools, I do not want my children there to be taught by that government. Or if the government has an alterior motive for socialism in the schools...again I do not want my children there. How I found out on homeschooling before, is I typed key words into the search engine of my computer until I found what best suited me. If you are in California you might come across some problems. However their are always loop holes

Hi Paige, weather here is cold, wet and windy. It has been very changeable over the last few months--frost and snow --mildly warm spells and wet --very wintery which is better than last year as the seasons seemed to be out of sync
interesting looking at the comments below about gardening as I am hoping to make mine more creature friendly this year--it's only small and doesn't get much sun--or I should say it gets sun for a a short time a day--used to have large evergreens but they caused too much damage and have been removed--hedgehogs don't come here now so slugs are a plenty--want to encourage a return so will be looking at ways to do that and make it more environmental--don't really want to go in for slug slaughter but they do eat all the plants--except the lavender of course
speak again soon
be well

Ha, I figured I'd start from the ground up, literally. From the books that I checked out yesterday, I'm starting with the one on compost. Thanx

So...you got any good gardening tips...I just went to the library today and loaded up on books. I'm learning to grow my own food and this is all new to me.

I actually have 3 daughters myself. My youngest doesn't register animals as food. The concept I believe is confusing to oher because myself and my children are the only vegans out of any of our family. My oldest 2, though were not born vegan. So for them I believe it is harder, exspecially with school(I'm taking them out, it's too corrupt.)they probobly even eat candy bars with their friends from time to time. As they are starting to understand the concept of life They are more accepting of our 'difference.' Also when they come across a vegetarian thay are more than fine with being a vegan. because of how socially 'brain washed' humans are the understanding of life for what it truely is, and how it works is a hard concept to digest. However...because of the way our minds have been conditioned ( and from my experience with my children) possibly peer influence, as shallow as that may seem, can be used as a teperary tool into awareness. If they have any 'idols that are veg maybe you can let them become aware of that. (Sometimes whan you are the one to point something out to someone they almost dismis it as opposed to letting them think that they figured out something on their own. You may already know, but peta2.com has famous vegatarians/vegans. It also is targeted towards a younger crowd. It has contests, info, video, downloads...If you haven't already...check it out...

Are you Vegetarian, Vegan or something else?
I am vegan.
About Me:
I am 45, stepmom of 3 kids ages 12, 14, and 17. I am a stay at home housewife. My interests include Quilting, Cooking, Aerobic exercise, Bicycling, Gardening, Crossword puzzles, Poetry, and Cats and Dogs. I have 2 cats "Precious" and "Sweety", both nuetered.
I have recently begun selling tupperware as a hobby. Here is a link to my page where you can order directly from me. I personally think tupperware is a little more earth friendly than some other plastic containers, because it is so durable and not disposable. Tupperware also has stainless steel cookware and cutlery items.

Teenagers

Well, I have told my 16 yr. old daugether "whom is not allowed to date yet, by her father" , that I would be more than glad to take her and her boyfriend to the movies, etc., but she has refused my requests ,saying that it was too embarrasing to be taken anywhere by a parent. Lo and behold , one of her friend's parents wants to take her to a "wrestling" match, and she has gladly accepted this offer, and may be meeting her boyfriend there. Question? Why is it any different being brought by another… Continue

Ode To My Kids

Come in children from the cold
Don't you know it's cold outside?
Stop rambling through the thickets
And climbing through the briars

I've a hot pot of soup
A simmering on the stove
Stop rambling through the thickets
And climbing through the briars
