- Married to a great guy who loves me and my passion for Rabbits and animals in general. Live in Ridgecrst, CA. Next to China Lake NAWC.
Im a new Vegan (six months now) but Im enjoying my change and am happy to have made it. Im new to all of this so be patient if I dont respond right away! lol
I love animals, rabbits especially. I have ten rescued spayed/neutered rabbits in five bonded pairs. Im a moderater on a large rabbit yahoo list and do whatever I can to save rabbits and animals.
Rabbits are the 3rd most popular house pet in the US and the 3rd most surrendered and yet they are classified by the USDA as poultry. Rabbits are considered 'convenience' animals and are raised and slaughtered in the same manner as chickens. The consumption of rabbit meat rose by 2 million in the last year, thanks to marketing as the "new white meat" Rabbits are bred & slaughtered for their fur, for meat and for vivesection at such a high rate, accurate figures are not recorded.
