Hi! I am Patrice, 22 years old and I live in France. I study English and Japanese at university. Most people don't know the French word for vegan (végétalien), so it's obvious veganism is unfortunately not a big phenomenon where I live. I actually don't know any vegan or vegetarian in France.
I would like to have long and serious conversations since I still feel rather insecure about some things (such as the way we should educate people to veganism), maybe as a consequence of me living or having lived in countries (I also lived in Japan) which are not very vegan-friendly.
Don't hesitate to contact me, I'd be glad to have someone to discuss with!

I had this blog posted somewhere else, and one of my friends, after reading the entire thing, responded "I can't help that I like cheese".
That reinforced, for me, how close minded people really are.
You don't think going to France is great??
Why would you say it is more vegan-enemy than the U.S? I think people are pretty unfriendly and apathetic (at very least) towards veganism. So are you talking attitude wise, or just in terms of French vs American cuisine?
Hi! I will be living in Caen next year. I must admit it worries me a bit that France isn't vegan friendly. With a language barrier, it will be difficult to find foods that are vegan friendly. I actually am doing research on veganism in the U.S, and how opposed people are to it. I don't think many places are vegan friendly....The meat and dairy industries have considerable influence over people...worldwide, apparently.
Hey. How's it going? Hope all is well. Nice to meet you.
Hey, I'd like to teach my kiddos a bit of French since it's in my family history. If you have any hints on how to start them off, please let me know.
Well I guess that's it. Take it easy. Peace
Don't feel lost here!! Of all places, this is probably one of the few that you are welcome and appreciated :) It would be nice if all of us vegans could chip in and buy an island together and live in harmony! But then I guess it's best not to run away from the problems....I am trying to educate as many people as possible on the matter. I don't care if I'm an outcast because of it -- or if I sound like a preacher. The animals will love me, if no one else will! Have you ever been to the states?
Hello Patrice! I feel very alone on this matter as well! It wasn't until recently watching some videos and doing some research that I decided not to eat animals or anything that comes from them. So far, most people don't want to hear about where their meat comes from -- it's really sad and speaks a lot about how selfish people really are. :(
Hi, I´m from Argentina. I know what you mean. Most people love barbecue here. You can find some vegetarian meals in most restaurants nowadays, but if you´re vegan you can only eat salads and be careful ´cos many of them have ham, chicken, fish or eggs.
