Are you Vegetarian, Vegan or something else?
Vegan, interested in going RAW!
About Me:
I'm a 26 year old vegan girl originally hailing from the beautiful South Pacific. I've loved animals my whole life, and never wanted to hurt them, so was interested in going vegetarian from a young age. I was veggie for many years before finally going vegan 2-3 years ago.

If there's any reason for being vegan - it's probably on my list. Compassionate, ethical, essential for the environment, physiological, health... the list goes on. I'm also a Nichiren Buddhist (SGI) and feel that veganism and Buddhism are very complementary to each other.

I have a wonderful vegetarian partner who is also Buddhist. He has been vegetarian his whole life and has no desire to try meat. Like me, his decision to continue along the vegetarian path stems from his love for animals. One day he would like to go vegan, but this will be a gentle process.

I love food and would love to be a vegan chef. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I could embark on this path in London?

My philosophy is to eat food that is preferably grown locally (at least in the UK) and is in season - as this is best for the environment and also for the local community. I always buy organic wherever possible, but believe that something that is fresh, local and in season is better for the planet than an organic product flown in from far away. Local grocers and farmers markets are always a better option than the supermarkets in my opinion - both for the pocket, and the local economy.

Outside of my vegan crusade I am interested in Buddhism, the arts, music, martial arts, friends, fine food and good wine.
