you ask some very intriguing questions which are difficult to answer on the comment board, so i've made a couple of posts about it in your thread.

Hay, welcome to VegHaven, what a great community to be part of... namste...
I'm more talking French VS American cuisine; there are far more vegan products in the U.S. I believe. Actually, lots of products which are labeled "vegan" in France are imported from Germany.
But as I said, it's not horrible, you'll deal with it. It just might be harder for new vegans to find out vegan products, but if you're used to it in the U.S. there should be no real problem!
Going to France next year? That's... great I guess! :)
I think you'll have no problems for vegan food, at least I don't. Of course it's far less vegan-friendly (or rather "more vegan-enemy") than the United States, but it's still completely OK as long as you're not used to go to the restaurant everyday. I also lived in a country (Japan) where there was a huge language barrier, but it was actually pretty easy to figure out what was vegan and what was not.
If you need some help (although you're just coming next year), you know who to ask!
It sounds very interested and I love anything to do with Anthropology. Contact me whenever... nataniel66@gmail.com
