Vegans & Vegetarians making a difference!

I am taking the plunge to raw vegan, and I need some help! LOL

I am STARVING! I have eaten a lot, but, still hungry. I have eaten broccoli, celery, mushrooms, bell peppers, soy cheese, sparkling water, and two different kinds of premade fruit smoothies. Less than 24 hours in, and its not easy. There are lots of cooked leftovers in the fridge, beef enchiladas, steak.. I am thinking of chowing on the hummus in there! But, I am afraid of the carbs in the bread I would eat it with.

I am wondering the easiest way to get some protein in me, and how can I feel satisfied? I have a SERIOUS sweethtooth, and the candy dish and chocolate cake are screaming my name. LOL

I live with others who are not going to stop eating the way they do for me, so, its not like I can just take all temptation out of my house.

Ideas?

What are your reasons for going raw?
How are you getting your omega 3's?
Are you taking a multi-vitamin and a B12 sublingual? (I know not everyone has a problem with vitamin deficiencies but most people don't think to find out)
Have you talked to your doctor about it?

Oh, and carbs are not your enemy! It's all about the kind you eat and how much of it. Whole grains are the way to go, but it must specify "WHOLE GRAIN" not whole wheat. Whole wheat doesn't always mean whole grain. Raw veggies are great with hummus.
The best advice I've ever heard about going raw is not that you subtract foods from your diet but to add foods. If you eat two pieces of fruit with breakfast, you're likely to eat less oatmeal or whatever else you eat for breakfast. Adding more fresh raw fruits and veggies to each meal and snacks means you eat less of everything else. So EAT!

when i first adopted a raw food diet, i felt hungry too. later it felt like a form of cleanliness - in fact, if i ate cooked foods, they felt like a lump in my stomach.

if you want to talk to someone who is very experienced in raw food, you can contact bigG. he also has a website with lots of good information.

Hi,

It is all about calories and eating enough of them in the form of sweet ripe fresh fruit.

Keep your fat intake low.

Protein is in all foods just eat enough of the food and you will be fine.

Ever hear of any protein deficient even the SAD diet eaters are not so don't worry about it.
