You're an inspiration and a testament to the vegan way of life. To all those that say it's unhealthy or radical can sight your life as proof positive. Keep shining!!!
My wife is a "meatatarian" she call it. She hates vegetarianism, but she loves me, so she decided not to hold it against me anymore after a long 4 years. It is still hard sometimes when she wants to go on a date to a burger joint with me, but I can usually find a way around the meat. I just count it as making her happy when we go on such dates.
We both are vegan and share the same thoughts and values about the animals, environment and health. It is so wonderful that we can live this life style together. We have five children and they also are all vegan. It seems like the more support we have, the more positive attitudes we maintain.
Well, my hubby is very supportive of me and the kids, but he is not a veggie and does not want to be, although I really hope that changes. He does eat veg at home because he enjoys what I cook. He says as long as it tastes good, he'll eat it, which is a huge help! But it is hard sometimes because I don't understand his reasoning for wanting to eat meat, "It tastes good," "We grew up eating meat," etc. But he respects my decision, so I respect his. I'm just waiting for that lightbulb to go off in his head...
maybe you could could casually start a conversation about all the greenhouse gasses cows emit and point out how much money you save when you shop by not purchasing as much meat. In an innocent sort of way so he doesn't think you're baiting him...(*shrug shoulders*)...maybe?
This is my fiance, except he swears once we're living together and on our own he'll eat vegan. Anytime I rag on him he's like "but it's so tastyyyyyyyyy".
If you would take a moment to realize that the church is hung up on issues, several of them, that are not at all based on Reality... for example, dominion over animals: Of which I take objection that the 'church' can have dominion over you. Specifically, dominion over animals is a falsity. How? Because, animals run from us, say when we might want to have a chicken to kill for consumption. This chicken runs from us, clearly designating that it does not want us to kill it. Therefore, dominion is a falsity. The animal does not want us to kill it, clearly.
There are many instances that the church is based on misinformation, and a creed that usurps God's powers to mean that we can kill, when clearly, Genesis also avows we should not.
Please, take that 'albatross' as to mean a horrible misinterpretation of God's Will.
that's an interesting argument eric disputing dominion through the obvious 'wish' of the chicken. it makes the situation clear that humans weren't given dominion and some have simply decided to act as bullies and oppressors against weaker victims - the way cowards do.
