So what's the dumbest question/comment you've gotten as a veg*n?

Other than the ubiquitous, "Do you eat fish?" of course.

I think the one that took the cake for me was, "But if everyone stopped eating animals, we'd be overrun! What would we do with all those cows??" I'd heard about it before, but never actually encountered it. This person was dead serious. I couldn't decide whether to laugh in her face or throw something at her.

One very common occurence is if I don't want a certain vegetable in a dish or I don't like it prepared a certain way I get the comment " What kind of a vegetarian doesn't like vegetables? " It's funny somehow if I don't like one vegetable or don't feel like eating it at the moment all the sudden I'm not a vegetarian or a good one anyway, strange. No matter how you eat I think everyone has food likes and dislikes, right? Maybe I'm just crazy or at least that's how some people like to try and make me feel. So apparently if a meat eater doesn't care for lamb I should say " What kind of meat eater doesn't like meat? " , although sadly this comment comes from my mother in law alot so I tend to bite my tongue and takle the issues selectively and just vent here : )

so ive already answered this question once, but im not sure what i said. But ive got a new one. One that i actually found shocking, and rather appalling. But anyways, i live in the deep south, for about 3 yrs. and the craziest comment ive ever gotten was by this kid who was about 2 yrs younger than me. He said "I think that u being vegetarian is offensive to me because the bible says ur supposed to eat meat." So i replied, "what u eat is between u and god, and the bible makes that clear." So he went on to say, "well youre gonna burn in hell because u dont eat meat." And i honestly wouldve laughed if i werent so shocked! crazy!!! im not the most religious person in the world, but im sure im not gonna burn in hell bc i choose not to eat an animal!!!! has anybody else had this happen to then?!
