I accidentally did this on myspace once. I had to send them a personal message saying that I was sorry and I don't know what happened and re invite them as a friend. I also noticed that when the 'nasty girls' would spam me, if I blocked them, then a list came up of all the people I had blocked came up with the option to unblock them. I don't know if that applies here. Try blocking someone and see if it does the same. I guess...
